
Occupational safety and health practices is a unit of competency offered in TVET level 6 qualification for basic competencies. This learning outcome describes the competencies required to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements for occupational safety and health. The significance of occupational safety and health practices to TVET level 6
curriculum is to equip trainee with knowledge, skills and attitude required to identify hazards in the workplace and/or the indicators of their presence, evaluation and/or work environment measurements of OSH hazards/risk existing in the workplace, gathering of OSH issues and/or concerns, prevention and control measures such as use of PPE and
contingency measures for a safe working environment.
